A class representative should have the same type of claim that others in the class have so that he can be pursuing that type of claim on behalf of all of the other people. He should not have a conflict with class members, and there should be no very obvious individual defense that the defendants can use with respect to that individual. Other than that, the only other requirement is that they make themselves available when needed for pursuit of the litigation.
