Benefits of a class action lawsuit are that large numbers of people who otherwise would not be able to sue for some fraud, or consumer fraud, or misrepresentation can band together and sue a large, monied company that they would otherwise not be able to, in order to collect what is rightfully theirs to recover. In addition, there is a important public benefit in that corporations do know that there is a way for consumers to fight back if they engage in a fraud or overstepping. Class actions are the only ways to do that.
