Joint custody is not determinative of who receives child support. It’s the amount of time that you are awarded custodial care or parenting time with your child. If each person has 50% of the time with the child, child support should be impacted. But if one party makes a huge amount of money and the other party does not make much money, that will not effect the child support flow.
