That’s an almost impossible question to answer because it depends upon so many circumstances. How long does it take to understand how bad the injury is? Are there disputes over liability? How much insurance coverage is involved? All of these factor into how long it takes to resolve a case. We’ve settled cases within 90 days of an accident. Sometimes if the case is tried and goes on appeal, it can take five or six years. Generally in the suburbs of New York and New Jersey, it’ll take up to two years to get a trial date for your case to be resolved. We try from the very beginning up until and through trial to resolve the case if we can, but sometimes you have to take a verdict.
