Relocation is a very thorny issue. The court has very specific rules about it. The court will not be fazed by somebody who wants to move over a state line by three or four miles, if the commute is not going to be different. The real question is, does this impact the relationship of the non-custodial parent with the child or children? And does it affect the relationship of the children with the parent who is not moving? The court specifically will study this, and make a determination as to whether or not it’s proper.
