The firm, together with its co-counsel, is litigating a case for certain Subrau WRX vehicles which contain a defect in the ringlands around the pistons in the engines. The model years are: 2009 through and including 2014 model year Impreza WRX and WRX STi which engines include but are not limited to engine codes EJ255 and EJ257. The case is currently pending in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and is entitled Amato, et al. v. Subaru of America Inc., et al. 1:18-cv-16118-JHR-KMW. Vehicles containing a ringlands defect experience a sudden loss of power and/or stalling that severely compromises the owner’s ability to maintain vehicle control.  The defective class engine components and engine management system also can cause sudden and catastrophic engine destruction as overheated internal parts seize.

If you have experienced this defect with your Subaru WRX vehicle and have received an estimate or have paid for the repair or engine rebuild, you may be entitled to compensation in the event this case resolves. In the event you believe you are a potential class member and have the ringlands problem please contact our office at the following: Attention Gary S.
