KGG is currently investigating a putative class action against General Motors LLC (“GM”) for its use of a defective new engine 6.2L V9 L87 in the above vehicle models. The 6.2L V9 L87 engine was introduced in 2019. These vehicles models are subject to complete engine failure. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”) is investigating this potential engine failure after receiving numerous complaints from consumers of these vehicles. The complaints allege sudden loss of power due to engine seizures, caused by bearing failures that may result in the engine seizing or the connecting rod breaching the engine block. A seized engine can lead to a sudden loss of power, increasing the risk of a crash and injury. While the NHTSA is investigating, GM has not yet issued a formal recall for the affected vehicles.
