EPISOURCE, LLC DATA BREACH CLASS ACTION INVESTIGATION

Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C. is actively investigating a significant data breach involving Episource, LLC. (“Episource”), a company that provides medical coding and risk adjustment services to healthcare providers, insurers, and related organizations.

Incident Overview:

On February 6, 2025, Episource identified suspicious activity within its computer systems, which was later confirmed to be a targeted cyberattack that occurred between January 27 and February 6. During this period, a criminal actor accessed and extracted sensitive personal and health-related data. Most troubling, however, is that Episource failed to disclose the breach publicly until June 6, 2025, four months later, via mandatory filings with the California Attorney General and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This substantial delay may have left thousands of patients, members, and consumers unaware and unprotected, increasing their risk of identity theft, insurance fraud, and medical identity misuse.

Legal Rights and Class Action Lawsuit:

If you believe you may have been affected by this breach, you may be entitled to compensation or other legal remedies. Our firm is exploring a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of individuals whose personal and medical information was compromised due to Episource’s alleged failure to safeguard consumer data and promptly notify the public.

Compromised information may include:

  • Full Name
  • Address
  • Phone Number
  • Email Address
  • Health insurance data (such as health plans/policies, insurance companies, member/group ID numbers, and Medicaid-Medicare-government payor ID numbers)
  • Health data (such as medical record numbers, doctors, diagnoses, medicines, test results, images, care, and treatment)
  • • Other personal data such as date of birth
