We are delighted to share that Barry Kantrowitz, distinguished attorney here at Kantrowitz, Goldhamer, Graifman, Perlmutter & Carballo, P.C., received the “Cornerstone of Democracy Award” at the recent Yom HaShoah 2024 event. Held on May 7th at the Rockland County Courthouse, this event was organized by the Justice Brandeis Law Society 9th Judicial District in partnership with the Holocaust Museum & Center For Tolerance and Education.
Yom HaShoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day, is a poignant event dedicated to honoring the memory of the millions of Jews and non-Jews who perished during the Holocaust. This year’s ceremony, themed “Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility & the Legal Community,” was especially significant given the current global climate marked by heightened antisemitism and ongoing conflicts.
The event featured a keynote address by Hon. Joan B. Lefkowitz, Justice of the New York State Supreme Court 9th Judicial District, who emphasized the importance of civics and civility in the legal community. The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the “Cornerstone of Democracy Award” to Barry Kantrowitz, recognizing his unwavering dedication to justice and his extensive contributions to the community.
Barry Kantrowitz has long been a pillar of strength and integrity in our community.
