Held on May 7th at the Rockland County Courthouse, this event was organized by the Justice Brandeis Law Society 9th Judicial District in partnership with the Holocaust Museum & Center For Tolerance and Education.

Yom HaShoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day, is a poignant event dedicated to honoring the memory of the millions of Jews and non-Jews who perished during the Holocaust. This year’s ceremony, themed “Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility & the Legal Community,” was especially significant given the current global climate marked by heightened antisemitism and ongoing conflicts.

The event featured a keynote address by Hon. Joan B. Lefkowitz, Justice of the New York State Supreme Court 9th Judicial District, who emphasized the importance of civics and civility in the legal community.
