Recently, the National Law Journal reported that a person proposed a class action lawsuit against Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches after the company announced a data breach in September.
According to the lawsuit, the company first announced the data breach on September 24, even though the suit alleges that it learned of the breach on July 30.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois, where Jimmy John’s is based, alleges the company violated statutes that require that the disclosure of security breaches be made in the “most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay.”
