Ford Fuel Leak Class Action Investigation

By Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C.Class Action

Do you own or lease a 2021–2024 Ford Bronco Sport or a 2020–2022 Ford Escape?

Ford recently announced a recall of over 694,000 SUVs due to a fuel injector defect that can cause fuel to leak into the engine compartment, increasing the risk of engine fires. This issue affects certain Bronco Sport and Escape models equipped with 1.5-liter engines.

Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C. is investigating claims against Ford for its handling of this dangerous defect. The recall expands earlier actions in 2022 and 2024, which provided software updates but did not replace the faulty fuel injectors. Even vehicles repaired under those recalls have reportedly experienced engine fires.

If you own or lease one of these affected Ford SUVs, your vehicle may have a cracked fuel injector, which could result in leaking fuel and pose serious safety risks. Ford’s interim fix involves a software update designed to detect a leak and reduce engine power, but the company is still developing a permanent solution.
