Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C. is currently investigating a significant data breach involving Kelly & Associates Insurance Group, Inc. (“Kelly Benefits”). This breach may have compromised sensitive personal and health-related information of customers, employees, and affiliated partners, including major insurance providers such as Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, CareFirst, The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, Vision Benefits of America, as well as Fidelity Building Services Group, a provider of technical building services.
Kelly Benefits discovered unauthorized activity within its systems, revealing that unauthorized access occurred between December 12 and December 17, 2024, during which certain files were accessed and copied. Although an investigation was initiated, it was not concluded until March 3, 2025. Despite this, Kelly Benefits did not begin notifying impacted clients, carriers, and affected individuals until April 2025. The breach was officially reported to the Attorney General of California and Maine only on May 2, 2025, which marks a significant delay in response and reporting.
Compromised information may include:
- Full Name
- Social Security numbers
- Tax ID Number
- Date of Birth
- Medical Information
- Health Insurance Details
- Financial Account Information
The exposure of protected health and financial information increases the risk of identity theft, medical fraud, and unauthorized insurance activity. This data may have been collected through insurance claims, customer service interactions, or related processes.
