Orangetown is located in southeast Rockland County, NY, sitting northwest of New York City, east of Ramapo, south of Clarkstown and west of the Hudson River.
The town has a population of about 50,000 people. Orangetown was established by Dutch settlers in 1683 and became part of Rockland County when the county itself was founded in 1798.
