According to LoHud.com, one worker was killed and two others were injured in a Maybrook construction accident on December 2, when a retaining wall built by a Nanuet company collapsed.

LoHud.com reported that emergency responders were called to the scene of the accident at 918 Homestead Avenue, after the wall collapsed while workers were pouring fresh concrete near a large structure on the property.

The worker who died reportedly became trapped beneath the wall and several hours passed before emergency workers were able to safely remove his body from the site. Two other workers were seriously injured.

One of the injured workers was flown via helicopter to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. The other was taken by ambulance to Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, N.Y.

Halmar International, a private construction company with offices in Nanuet, reportedly owns the property where the accident took place.
