Good things do happen to nice people.

40 years ago we had a client who was a cleaning lady. She was struggling financially, but one thing she had was a famous last name.

She was a beneficiary in a class her great-grandfather’s Will probated many years before. The will provided her with an interest in one single dry oil well. In the 1970s engineers developed a new technique of squeezing oil out of the ground and with the increase of oil prices the method became useful.

Suddenly, the oil well started to produce distributions for this class of beneficiary. Her share… $365,000… per month. After years of living in poverty, her ship (in this case an oil well) came in.
