KANTROWITZ, GOLDHAMER, GRAIFMAN, PERLMUTTER & CARBALLO, P.C. is investigating potential claims against Wise US Inc. (“Wise”) relating to unauthorized access, fraudulent transfers, and unreimbursed losses involving Wise accounts.
Wise is a financial technology company that allows consumers to hold, send, receive, and transfer money in the United States and internationally. Consumers who use services such as Wise are afforded protections under federal and state consumer protection laws, including protections that may apply when unauthorized electronic transactions occur.
We are investigating reports from Wise customers who experienced unauthorized access to their accounts or unauthorized transfers and were not fully reimbursed for their losses. We are also investigating whether Wise’s account security, fraud detection, transaction-history, and dispute procedures adequately protect consumers from unauthorized activity.
Of particular concern is Wise’s “Hide this Activity” feature, which allows transactions to be removed from the account’s ordinary transaction view. We are investigating whether unauthorized users have used this feature to conceal fraudulent transactions and whether hidden transactions may be difficult for account holders to discover, review, or dispute.
If you are a current or former Wise customer who has experienced any of the following, you may have a claim:
- Unauthorized access to your Wise account;
- Unauthorized or fraudulent transfers or charges;
- Transactions you did not recognize that were hidden from your account history;
- Difficulty locating or disputing unauthorized transactions;
- Wise denying your fraud claim or refusing to reimburse unauthorized transactions; or
- Other unreimbursed losses resulting from unauthorized activity involving your Wise account.
