By Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C.Class Action

Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C. is currently investigating a significant data breach involving iHeartMedia (“iHeart”), the largest radio station owner in the United States. This breach may have compromised sensitive personal information of individuals.

iHeart discovered unauthorized activity within its systems, revealing that unauthorized access occurred between December 24 and December 27, 2024, during which certain files that had been stored on systems at a number of local stations had been accessed. iHeart concluded its investigation by April 11, 2025. Notifications to impacted individuals began on April 30. While iHeart has not disclosed the total number of affected individuals, it confirmed that residents of Maine, Rhode Island, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, and New Mexico were among those impacted. All compromised files included names, with some also containing financial and government-issued identification details.

Compromised information may include:

  • Social Security numbers
  • Tax ID Number
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • State identification card numbers
  • Passport numbers
  • Financial account numbers
  • Payment card numbers

The exposure of financial information increases the risk of identity theft, medical fraud, and unauthorized insurance activity. This data may have been collected through insurance claims, customer service interactions, or related processes.
