Fanduel & Draftkings Class Action Lawsuit
A developing legal situation has been on the rise for the popular Fantasy Sports companies, Fanduel and Draftkings. A class action lawsuit has been filed against the two companies, alleging negligence, fraud, false advertisement and illegal gambling.
Controversy first began last week after a Draftkings employee won $35,000.00 in a contest, in which customers of the fantasy sports world claim the employee was privileged to inside information. Customers claim that the employee received information not available to the public regarding winning chances of players that week, giving him an unfair advantage. The lawsuit also alleges that both companies were aware of the situation and turned their heads.
The trouble for the two companies doesn’t end there. Over twenty class action lawsuits have been filed against Fanduel and Draftkings in the past week alone. The most recent, claiming that the two companies are in illegal gambling operations according to laws in most states, specifically to this case; Alabama. Two Alabama men sought a class action case against the two companies seeking their money back, claiming that the companies were running illegal gambling operations in Alabama. The lawsuit claims that Fanduel and Draftkings are operating illegal sports betting according to Alabama state gambling laws.
