According to CNN, Toyota announced the recall of 369,000 vehicles this month to fix problems associated with its Highlander Hybrid SUVs and Lexus IS 350 models.
The recalls affect about 235,000 vehicles in the U.S., 74,000 in Japan and 37,500 in Europe. A representative for Toyota said that there were no reported accidents or injuries relating to the recall.
The Highlander Hybrid recall is for the model years between 2006 and 2010, while the Lexus vehicles were from 2006 to 2008. According to CNN, in the SUVs, the transistors in the hybrid system can overheat, causing the vehicle to trigger a warning that stops it from operating.
The company said it would notify customers with affected vehicles via mail. Last year, Toyota recalled 7.43 million cars due to a window problem that posed fire risks and in April, the company recalled 1.7 million cars for airbag defects.
